As part of resolutions reached at the end of the Annual General Meeting of Nigeria's football governing body, the Nigeria Football Association will now be known as the Nigeria Football Federation.
Also, the Chairman of the old NFA will now be known as President in the new NFF while the position of Vice Chairman in the old Association will now be known as the Vice President in the new Federation.
Meanwhile, the Super Cup match between league champions Kano Pillars and FA Cup champions Ocean Boys of Yenagoa ended with the Niger Deltans lifting the Cup after winning through penalties.
The game had finished 2-2 after 90 minutes but it was the 2007 league champions who held their nerves in the penalty shoot-out that ensued, winning 7-6 with Yaro Yaro of Pillars missing the vital spot kick.
