10 men posing as officers of the Rivers State Task Force have been busted by the Port Harcourt Chamber of Commerce, Industry, Mines and Agriculture (PHCCIMA) and the Police in Port Harcourt after having harassed and extorted money from owners of business premises in the State capital.
According to the First Deputy President of PHCCIMA, Engineer Furo Vincent said the culprits had simply stamped a sticker of the Port Harcourt City Council as cover for their criminal acts, adding that about 80% of those going about as staff of the Port Harcourt City Council are impostors.
He therefore urged residents in the State to be aware of people harassing them over car stereo license and other related issues just as he asked the Port Harcourt City Council to provide proper identification to their staff.
