Joseph Hundah has recently been appointed Managing Director of MultiChoice Nigeria. His appointment took effect from June 2008
He succeeds Mr. Collins Khumalo who is expected to assume a new role outside Nigeria Prior to Joseph’s appointment to this position, he was the Operations Director for Sub-Saharan Africa at M-Net Africa.oseph has a solid understanding of Africa and the challenges faced by the media on the continent. In particular he has a deep knowledge of the Nigeria media landscape, culture and economy. Based in Nigeria over the last 18 months, Joseph’s leadership had a particular focus on subscribers and non-subscribers in Nigeria, and the strategic positioning of the M-Net brand in the country. Through his role as Operations Director for Sub-Saharan Africa at M-Net, Joseph has led a revolution in the quality and quantity of uniquely African programming screened by DStv, including Big Brother Africa, Moments with Mo, Deal or No Deal Nigeria, Idols West Africa and the Nigerian drama, Tinsel. He is expected to bring his experience to bear on the business of MultiChoice Nigeria the subscription management company for DStv products and services in the country. Beginning his career in 1992, Joseph has over the last 16 years built up a wealth of knowledge both in the finance and broadcast industry. A chartered accountant by training, Joseph has over nine years experience working for South Africa’s largest television broadcasting names, including the SABC, SuperSport, M-Net and MultiChoice. Joseph joined the group in 2001 as Chief Financial Officer (CFO) for SuperSport; he moved to M-Net as CFO in 2003 and was appointed Operations Director, sub-Saharan Africa for M-Net in 2006. Joseph Hundah is happily married to Angie and has two lovely kids. His hobbies include playing golf and reading non-fiction books especially biographies.
