Ahead of the impending Olympic Games in Beijing, China, Nigeria's female national team continued its preparation with a 1-0 win over a local South Korean outfit.
In a close encounter with a team consisting of about 11 members of the South Korean national team, the Super Falcons scored its winning goal through a penalty converted by Rita Chikwelu midway through the first half.
The win comes days after the Falcons defeated another local side 5-2 with the opponents consisting of at least six members of the South Korean national team.
The Falcons are grouped alongside former world champions Germany, silver medallists at the last Athens Olympics, Brazil and rising Asian team North Korea.
Meanwhile, the list of the final squad that would prosecute the Olympics for the Falcons will be sent to FIFA later today. Today, at midnight, is the deadline set by FIFA for final lists to be received from teams taking part in the football event of the Olympics.
Coach of the male U-23 national team, Samson Siasia will also release his final 18 man list of players that will prosecute the Olympics. Dream Team IV is grouped alongside Holland, United States of America and Japan.
