The Association of Nigerians in International Organisations in The Netherlands (ANION) has set three points agenda to fight poverty and problems associated with Nigerian cities.

The three point agenda are: Homeland development and sponsorship of scholarship and orphanage projects, Dutch outreach, acquisition and development.

ANION chairperson, Mrs. Sola Adeboyejo presented the agenda at the formal launching and inauguration by the Nigerian Ambassador to the Netherlands , Dr. Mrs. Nimota N. Akanbi at the Winston Leisure centre in Rijswick.

Adeboyejo said the association would liaise with Dutch municipal authorities, explore areas of interest between the Hague and other cities in Nigeria , and also develop a rapport to the mutual benefit of both nations.
 
The chairperson explained further that there would be acquisition and development to enable members invest in Nigeria in the area of property and capital market.

She commended Ambassador Akanbi and the Head of Chancery, Mr. Oluseye Davies for their support.

In her goodwill message, Ambassador Akanbi said Nigerians in Diaspora are a pride to the country.

Dr. Mrs. Akanbi pledged her support to the association in seeking to enhance the image of Nigeria in the international community and enjoined members to think of positive ways to move Nigeria forward.

A presentation was made during the event on global financial investment opportunities by Mr. Russel Hammond of worldwide brokers and another one by Mr. Bola Ogunsola, the Managing Director of Bank PHB in Nigeria on mortgage opportunities for Nigerians in the Diaspora.

ANION was formed to provide a forum for all Nigerians working within United Nation’s Organisations and other international agencies in The Netherlands.
