Don't criticize the churches of God they will curse you, people would always say. But do the churches of God know how many curses that are being extended to them on a daily basis by even their members whom they can't allow to sleep, allow to rest, allow to read, and all that occassioned by their incessant thunderous preachments and their equivocal night vigils?
Do they know that among the un-ordained members of the public that their are also the God-chosen clergies and prophets and prophetesses, and all that, who can aswell lay curses to them, if actually every curses that is laid by any "man of God" works? I wonder why one can not discuss the church when it is aberating from the norms and ties as the Lord Christ had already laid down in the Holy Bible. Did apostle Paul and co. not admonish the churches in Corinth, Texas, Lagos etc. to know that God is not the author of confussion? But what is happening today in our many Churches? Who is making God the author of confussion and who is making the amiable Lord Christ a lier?
But......"Why do the nations rage and the peoples plot in vain? the kings of the earth take their stand and the rulers gather together against the Lord and against His Anointed one"...Acts 4: 25-26. Here, does it not imply that even a clergy who is going contrary to the already laid down rules by Christ is going against the Lord and against His Annoited one?
I have always been wondering and wandering to know why many people who are called christians are backsliding from the christian-faith and why many others are joining or becoming converts. I have always been pausing to know why in Europe and in the USA., churches are being sold to companies and rarely do people attend church services. I have always been pausing to know why churches continues to increase in Nigeria, while morality continues to decrease. Are there no upheavals going on right now among the many denomination of churches in the world? All with different brand of the Lord Christ they worship or warship. Is Catholicicm not fighting Penticostalism? What about the Lutherans? Oh! What about the Born-Again churches? Do people not say, if man were God......?
Perhaps, I would not be here today as a writer or as a poet. My life would have been mandated to expire on a certain date by a man, since any man who corrects the church is bound to be cursed - by a man who can not even mould a human being let alone creating a human being just because one maybe walks up into the church to correct it to stop disturbing the environment with its louder speakers the environment does not want. Are the churches not taught about noise pollution? Why was it that the Lord Christ was always leaving His followers to the Mount Olive or to a secluded areas to pray when he was flesh in the world?
However, since we have agreed that God is the Creator of the universe we have to live in the universe according to the God's principles and ideas. Because of His love for mankind was why Christ came, for the remission of the sins of mankind and abrogation of wickedness, yet some people who confered on themselves the tittle of Clergy just by attending one theological school or bible school are making God look wicked, which He is not and will not be. Do we know that the judgement of God will start from the churches of God? Then we can see who is actually free from the apocalypsetic wrath of God: man or the church.
In the old, God was appeased or the atonement of man's sins were by the blood of animals. Though, animals were used for the restitution before Christ came. But now that Christ has come, what is the fate of the church? Especially the Nigerian brand of the church? Where the Lord Christ has become for the rich and not for the poor He came for? Assuming it was in the days animals were used to appease God, the Nigerian-church would have made it not to reach the purchase of the poor. But thank you, Jesus, man is not God!
Against that backdrop, in the Acts of the apostles, Christ forewarned the Apostles that His gift was free to them and free the gift should be given to others. If the gift was free as Christ had said, what is the meaning of paying heavily in the theological school to get this "knowledge" which Christ and the Almighty God have given to mankind for free? Asking for money before one could become a clergy or before one could wed or before one could get baptized in the church, is it not an act of making God an author of confussion? Which He is not.
Christ never asked the apostles or disciples to charge money before any exorcism could take place anywhere. He even showed the church examples when he exorcised people with impure spirits and asked them not to go around publicizing His works. He did not ask the apostles to collect money before involving in any "land deliverance or individual deliverance", or did He? He even warned the apostles not to voyage with anything they were to travel with in the Acts of Apostles in pairs.
Even when the apostles were given gifts by the inhabitants of the many places that they went to do the work of God, they declined them owing to the fact that "the gift was given to them free and free should they give."
What I am seeing among the apostles of today in Nigeria is that "Our Christ or God is not the one of poverty." Who told you? With that assertion, a lot of people rob their brethren in the name of God or in the name of Man of God, thereby making Christ a lier. Which He is not! Was it not written in Mathew, that you must carry your Cross. And what does cross mean if not suffer? But how many christians in Nigeria believes in this? Was Stepphen and co. not killed without them renouncing their faith, but how many Nigerian christians can die for their faith? Maybe, we could hear that "Our God is not the God of death."
The Nigerian-apostles are making the church to be a money spining place: for the rich to come and exhibit their riches, while the poor who may be the people that God wants are debased in the church. The church of God? Don't tell me that!
In the Nigerian churches, I am seeing them worship a Jesus Christ who was born in the best hopitals in the towns, rather than the Jesus Christ who was born in the sheep's tent. In the Nigerian churches, I am seeing them worship a Jesus Christ who came for the saints, rather than the Jesus Christ who came for the prostitutes. In the Nigerian churches, I am seeing them worship a Jesus Christ who is a lover of money, rather than the Jesus Christ who did not touch money.
In the Nigerian churches, I am seeing them worship a Jesus Christ who would curse any body that offends Him, rather than the Jesus Christ who forgave the criminal with Him on the cross. In the Nigerian churches, I am seeing them worship a Jesus Christ who loves the Jesus Christ of the pastor, rather than the Jesus Christ in the Holy Bible. In the Nigerian churches, I am seeing. yes, I am seeing many things in the Nigerian churches.
