Here is a chance for all ‘would be’ models to achieve their dreams as Nigeria̓'s Next Super Model project, takes centre stage. The Nigeria̓s Next Super Model project is designed to encompass a reality tv show and a pageant and the Entire process is spread across 2 segments of 3 weeks.
According to Mrs Joan Okorodudu, CEO of The International Business Consortium Nigeria limited (parent company of The house of j’OLA Fashion & Lagos Ageless & Wellness Clinique), organisers of the project, this project came up because of the need to discourage the trend of models fleeing the country for other countries in search of modeling contracts illegally: “We intend to create an avenue to expose at least 20 Nigerian super model talents to the international market and secure both local and international contracts like their counterparts around the world from their home country.” Another objective of the project she says, is to eradicate ignorance on the part of the Nigerian model and discourage their exposure to vulnerable situations by educating them on the ethics and about real life situations of the international modeling industry through seminars in diet, tips beauty and catwalk. A total of twenty participants will be selected by the public to contest in the subsequent pageant. The entire process is classified into stages namely; pre- production which will take 4 weeks include employment of staff and reality tv show facility set up which will run from June to July, production will be on for 6 weeks where 30 to 40 successful candidates from the screening exercise will become participants of the reality TV i.e 15 - 20 participants per segment of the two shows and they will have 3 weeks allotted to each segment. The top 5 contestants with the most sign on prospects (total scores) will be crowned winners of the pageant and 3 top winners will secure international and local modeling contracts from Click, planet beauty, Lotto Nigeria and many more while the winner will cart away N2M worth of gifts, cash inclusive and an official car. The full show (reality-pageant) is aimed to be shown live on local and cable stations for three 3 months from July 25-september 22 while the screening will commence this month. The 2007 maiden edition of the Nigeria̓s next Super model is sponsored by lotto Nigeria. Other Nigeria. Other sponsors include house of j’OLA, Lagos Ageless & Wellness Clinique, Africa magic and Brand world. More sponsorships are expected. Quote this article on your site | Views: 1070 | Print | E-mail
