Nigeria's sole representative in the CAF Champions League, Enyimba yesterday unveiled the duo of Austin Eguavoen and Ike Shorunmu as part of the coaching crew of the Aba Elephants.
Eguavoen and Shorunmu come in to replace Daniel Amokachi and Alloysius Agu who both are coaches with the Super Eagles as assistant coach and goalkeepers' coach respectively.
Eguavoen, erstwhile Super Eagles coach and subsequently an assistant to Berti Vogts, was last at South African Black Leopards for three months before he resigned following the club's demotion from the Premier Soccer League.
Shorunmu was also at the Super Eagles technical team as goalkeeper coach under Eguavoen but was sacked by the Nigeria Football Association following a poor outing at the 2008 African Nations Cup in Ghana.
Eguavoen and Shorunmu join the two-time African club champions as Chief Coach and Goalkeeper Trainer respectively and will support Belgian Technical Adviser Maurice Coreman ahead of this season's CAF Champions League.
Enyimba will open their account in Africa's premier club competition next Sunday in Khartoum against Al-Hilal, the Sudanese champions. The Aba club is in Group B alongside the Sudanese club, Coton Sport of Cameroun and DR Congo's TP Mazembe.
