Ferdinand to Set Up Football Academy in Lagos |

Manchester United defender Rio Ferdinand has made known plans to set up a football academy in Lagos, Nigeria as part of initiatives to develop young footballers in the area.
Ferdinand it will be recalled was recently in Lagos for the kick-off of the MTN/Lagos Street Soccer Championship on the invitation of Governor Babatunde Fashola.
According to the Red Devils' regular, the football academy would hopefully begin with about 20-30 young footballers before reaching the capacity to accommodate more budding talent. He also said that the initiative is being supported by the Lagos State Government and a few others.
