Health workers in Lagos State who are found to contradict the attainment of qualitative and affordable delivery of health services to the people would from henceforth be relieved of their duties.
This declaration made known by the Commissioner for Health Dr. Jide Idris has come as a result of a recent flurry of criticisms on the attitudes and commitments of some health workers in the State.
According to the Commissioner who was on an unscheduled monitoring visit to some General Hospitals, it was a priority of the government to ensure the delivery of equitable healthcare services to the people with the utilisation of appropriate technology and compliance with various high level policies in the State.
He explained that the impromptu visit to the hospitals was to keep the government abreast on activities at the hospitals as well as the level of condition of physical structures at the hospitals, adding that structures would be upgraded or repaired where necessary.
Meanwhile, he mentioned some of the hospitals earmarked to undergo rehabilitation in collaboration with the Africa Development Bank including Igbonla Primary Health Care and the Community Health Training Institute in Agbowa near Epe. Quote this article on your site | Views: 177 | Print | E-mail
