The Ogun State Government has approved the sum of N57m for the rehabilitation of the Vehicle Inspection Officers' stations in Abeokuta, Ota, Ilaro and Ijebu-Igbo.
According to the Commissioner of Works in the State, Prince Segun Adekoya said the amount would also be used in erecting fences at the listed stations to provide security for vehicles impounded and general renavation of the stations.
Provisions would also be made for basic office equipment as the stations are in poor condition due to years of neglect by previous administrations in the State.
He added that all other VIO stations in the State would be taken care of in the second phase of the rehabilitation excercise aimed providing a conducive working environment for officers and encouraging them to generate more revenue for the State Government.
