Dream Team IV's US Training Tour Scuttled

While wishing the Americans a belated July 4 celebration, someone at the Nigeria Football Association must not have realised what today meant in the US and to all Americans around the world, crucially those in the embassies.

That is because with the impending trip of the Samson Siasia led U-23 team of Nigeria to the United States, the NFA fixed an appointment with the American Embassy for today to hold visa application interviews for the players and officials, oblivious of the fact today is Independence Day; a public holiday.

It means the interview will not hold and most likely, the Dream Team IV's training trip to the US; where they were scheduled to play two friendlies, including against Uruguay, would have to be shelved.

That would leave the training tour to Korea just before the Olympics proper for the U-23 team to prepare for the football event at Beijing.
