Ace Manchester United player Cristiano Ronaldo is set to miss the TINAPA Invitational Soccer Fiesta holding at the end of July as he will undergo surgery on an injury picked up during the just concluded European Championship.
The Portugal player was billed to play for Manchester United at the TINAPA invitational, which would also see Portsmouth participate, but will have to miss the trip to Calabar as it would take about six weeks before recovery after surgery.
The TINAPA Soccer Fiesta will hold between July 23 and July 28 with Champions League and Premier League winners Manchester United billed to play with FA Cup champions Portsmouth; who have Nwankwo Kanu and John Utaka in their books, and the Super Eagles of Nigeria.
There also would be a fourth team picked from the Nigeria football league through public voting. The four teams in the running to take part in the TINAPA Invitation are league champions Kano Pillars, Division One A and B champions Kaduna United and Warri Wolves as well as CAF Champions League campaigners Enyimba of Aba.
