Enyimba Edged out of FA Cup

Ocean Boys of Yenagoa yesterday ensured Enyimba finish the 2007/08 domestic season trophyless following a 3-2 win on penalty shootout after a dramatic FA Cup semi-final game had ended 1-1 in Owerri.

Stephen Nworgu had given the Aba Elephants the lead but a 90th minute equaliser from Blessing Okadi forced the game into extra time and consequently, penalties where the boys from the Niger Delta had the better of the two time African champions.

Ocean Boys will now play Gombe United in the final of the FA Cup after the latter defeated Nasarawa United 1-0 in the second semi-final of Nigeria's oldest club competition. The winner of the FA Cup will represent Nigeria in the CAF Confederations Cup next season.
