     Turkey, responsible for the exit of Czech Republic and Croatia from the Championship, deservedly took the lead after 22 minutes through Ugor Boran who bundled home a Karim Richards effort that went of the crossbar. Richards had minutes earlier saw a shot crash off the German bar while Lehmann was almost caught off his line by a dipping Hamit Altintop free kick as Turkey looked on their way to pulling off yet another shock result to add to a growing CV of giant killings. The Germans soon got back in the game however and just as in the opening goal against Portugal in the last eight, Lukas Podolski sent in an enticing cross for Bastian Schweinsteiger to glance past Rustu Recber in the 26th minute. Germany then took the lead through Miroslav Klose who was gifted a free header after some slack goalkeeping from Recber in the 79th minute. But Turkey time and again have shown their undying resolve and duly equalised through Semih Senturk with a near post finish after 86 minutes. The game then looked destined for extra time until a moment of inspiration from Philip Lahm in the 90th minute sent the Germans through ahead of the second semi-final between Spain and Russia later today.
