Trucks everywhere
Trucks everywhere
The haulage business is not doing bad in Lagos, Nigeria. You can tell by the number of trucks plying the roads, on a daily basis. There are so many of them. But you might just ignore this until one of them breaks down, and then another and another.......

And the truck drivers? They must be from another planet. Believe me, if you stay in Lagos for a week you'll see a tanker, or a trailer, making a u-turn right in the middle of the highway. Stay a couple of months and you'll see a container fall off a trailer.
I do not think, though, that you want to stick around long enough to see a 30,000 litre petrol tanker blow up in the middle of a three lane expressway. Imagine how many people will burn. It has happened before. We see these horid sights everyday and we go on like, hey, it's normal. 40% percent of these trucks are not even road worthy!

Click play to watch video: This must be the truck lane. Of course, cars are sandwitched between these trucks for hours in a traffic jam like this one............
