Dove Eyes, a 30-minute inspirational radio programme which hit the air waves on April 6, is already making positive impact in the lives of its many listeners. The Bible-based radio talk show, which is broadcast every Sunday by 7 p.m. on Ray Power 100.5 FM, features life changing stories that address the challenges of womanhood.
The issues discussed are real life experiences that are faced by women every day. These include relationships, marriage, childbearing, education and entrepreneurship. Dealing with such issues can be daunting, overwhelming and painful for a woman. However, the sweet taste of victory and hope which Dove Eyes brings, makes listening to the programme a pleasant experience. One of the most striking stories told in the programme is that of a woman who got rehabilitated after 15 years of drug abuse. It was a heart rending success story told by a woman who overcame the challenges of drug abuse by adhering to Biblical principles. She got off drugs after series of Biblical counselling and prayers for one year. Speaking on the outcome of the programme, its initiator and anchor, Chinwe Kalu, said that the programme is already making the desired impact expected from it. She also said that Dove Eyes hopes to bring home the relevance of the Holy Bible to everyday issues of a woman’s life. ‘When I heard my voice on the radio that evening, I felt like the world was opening up for me to resound an eternal message that burns in my heart,” says Kalu. “After an episode has been aired, we get calls and text messages from other women who are facing challenges. That clearly means that there are a lot of young women out there who need to hear these rejuvenating stories.” Dove Eyes airs authentic and verifiable stories of women who have come through difficult situations and listeners are encouraged to share their breakthrough experiences by sending their inspiring stories of God’s salvation to the programme’s email,

The programme can be described as a platform created for women who need a listening ear to share their experience. Indeed, Dove Eyes has made a good start and is looking forward to more beautiful and impactful days ahead. Hopefully, the programme will be taken to Abuja and Port Harcourt soon and will cover Nigeria in 18 months. But sourcing for sponsors and partners to support and sustain the project has been a big challenge, Kalu said, while soliciting institutional and individual sponsorships. The testimonies featured in Dove Eyes are proof that the Bible can bring concrete solutions to all issues of life. Every episode has delivered on the Dove Eyes value proposition: Better future, expectations met and dreams fulfilled.
