Yar'Adua Hails Gani at 70 Print E-mail

Nigerian author, publisher, philanthropist, social critic, human and civil rights lawyer, Chief Gani Fawehinmi, SAN, today got President Yar'Adua's personal best whishes on the occasion of his 70th birthday anniversary.


According to a statement signed by the Special Adviser to the President (Communications), Segun Adeniyi, President Umaru Musa Yar’Adua telephoned Chief Gani Fawehinmi, this afternoon in London, from Germany, and wished him a speedy recovery from the ailment which has kept him away from the several events lined up back home in Nigeria to celebrate his attainment of the grand age of seventy years.

The President prayed that God should, in His infinite mercies, strengthen the leading democracy and human rights advocate, and grant him many more years of commendable contributions to the entrenchment of democracy, the rule of law, good governance, justice and equity in Nigeria.

He assured Chief Fawehinmi of the goodwill of his Administration and the best wishes of all Nigerians.

Chief Gani Fawehinmi was born on 22 April 1938.
