Devouring the Open Learning bug
Written by Nchu Ogar
Wednesday, 03 October 2007

That Kano Killing
Written by Habib Yakoob
Wednesday, 03 October 2007
Kano state is not the only state where there is poverty or where the leaders have refused to take proper care of their subjects; it is not the only state where youths have no jobs; it is not the only place where people believe in God or Islam; it is not the only big city in the whole of Nigeria, but it has become the most notorious state in this country where senseless killings have become institutionalized.

Written by News Hound
Monday, 01 October 2007
A satellite designed and fabricated, albeit, by  Nigerian engineers in the UK is not a made in Nigeria Satellite. Cannot be. Will never become.  This ploy, it seems to me, typifies the case of the cart before the horse. In the 21st century, Nigerian planners should devise the long-run approach in developmental issues. The satellite infrastructure erected in Nigeria, it seems to me, ought to be the logical, primary and wise way to go before the rush to a "make belief" of a made in UK satellite as a made in Nigeria satellite.

Hurray, Nigeria is 47!
Written by Habib Yakoob
Monday, 01 October 2007
Today, we are expected to put on a face of celebration; dance and sing that once again we have made it. We are forty-seven, hurray! And our children would file out at different locations, including the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) and sing themselves hoarse about how great this country is and how much they love it.
